Association of blood cell parameters of peripheral inflammation with cognitive function

چکیده
Background Chronic peripheral inflammation is associated with cognitive decline and increased risk of dementia. Easily measured circulating blood cell parameters, including the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), red distribution width (RDW), mean platelet volume (MPV), reflect inflammation. We sought investigate cross-sectional association between these measures neuropsychological (NP) test performance in Framingham Heart Study (FHS) Offspring, Third-generation, Omni cohorts. Method identified FHS participants who attended an exam that included a complete count sample underwent NP testing within five years draw. Linear mixed effect models were used parameters (NLR, RDW, MPV) individual scores adjusting for age, sex, education, cohort, time draw testing, prevalent cardiovascular disease, APOE-ε4 genotype, C-reactive protein, accounting familial correlation using random effect. additionally tested interactions age (≥ 60 vs. < years) on associations reported separately by group when significant (P interaction ≤ 0.01). Result Among 3531 (mean 60.3 years, range 25 97 47% male), 80% had at least some college 22% carriers. observed higher NLR poorer visual reproductions – delayed recall, Trails B - A, Hooper organization test, assess memory, executive function, visuospatial abilities respectively (Table). There was also RDW digit symbol assessing function. different effects two groups metric function (i.e., A), where correlated decreased aged ≥ (n=1865). Conclusion as associates lower years. In younger individuals, chronic may have smaller

Investigation of NK Cell Population in Peripheral Blood and Tumor Lesions of Patients with Breast Cancer
Background: Alteration in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) is usually investigated to provide an evidence of the host immune responses to tumor antigens. The tumor infiltrating NK cells interact most closely with the tumor cells and more accurately reflect tumor host interactions. Objective: To analyze peripheral blood and tumor associated Natural Killer (NK) cells in patients with breast ca...

the aim of this study was to investigate the association of bovine leukocyte antigen-drb3 alleles with peripheral blood mononuclear cell (pbmc) proliferation in response to staphylococcus aureus. the animals included in this study (n=347) were approximately of same age and comprised of f2 holstein-friesian ´ charolais (n = 155), holstein-friesian backcross (f0 holstein-friesian dams crossed wit...
متن کاملImmunophenotyping of Nodal Peripheral T-cell Lymphomas and its Association with Epstein-Barr Virus
Background: Immunophenotyping in the rare group of nodal Peripheral T-cell Lymphomas (PTCL) exposes interesting features such as T-cell marker downregulation and paradoxically, the presence of reactive, clustered large-sized CD20 positive B-cells (B-cell proliferation). Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been suggested as a putative etiology in pathogenesis of B-cell lymphoma. We aimed to review the ...
